Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that interfere with functioning. Affecting both children and adults, it involves underactive prefrontal cortex function and high heritability (60-90%). Individuals with hEDS are up to 6 times more likely to have ADHD, with studies finding ADHD prevalence as high as 35-46% in teenagers with hEDS. Common overlaps include chronic fatigue, dysautonomia (POTS), sleep disorders, and increased pain.
